Jamal Jones is a 2000 graduate of Skyline high school in Oakland, California where he lettered in football and track and field. Jamal went on to play linebacker and fullback at Fresno State University. The bulldog coaching staff nicknamed him “cement head” because of his bulldog personality and violent collisions on the field. In the spring 2005 Jamal graduated from Fresno State with his B.A in Communication. He is currently taking graduate level courses in family therapy at the University of Phoenix.
The youngest of five children Jamal grew up in a Christian environment. His parents, Rev. Christopher and Teresa Jones have been married for 36 years and modeled for him and his siblings a life of devotion to Jesus Christ, the holy bible, and family. Jamal has a total of 15 nieces and nephews. His life verse is Jeremiah 1:5 “Before you were formed in your mother’s womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations”. His life mission is to be the person God has called him to be.
Jamal was introduced to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes while attending Fresno State and is now in his sixth year on staff. He is currently serving as the Fresno State Campus Director which includes overseeing a weekly huddle, Student Athlete Leadership Training each summer, and coordinating chapel services for bulldog football. Fresno State currently has 19 different athletic teams with 500 plus student athletes. Jamal has a huge heart for FSU and FCA and loves being able to combine the two to make an impact for Jesus Christ.
